Brown puts car #1 in P1 ahead of Great Race

The stage is set for the Great Race after Will Brown snared morning warm-up honours from Kai Allen.
Having set the pace early, Allen had led the majority of the session, only for Brown to go 0.0267s clear with a 2:05.1698.
The likes of James Golding and Anton De Pasquale also showed speed.
The 20-minute session ran green the whole journey, allowing teams to practice their pit stop and race procedures.
BRT suffered the biggest scare of the morning when Zak Best surfed through the Skyline sand.

Sunny, but cool conditions greeted the field for the Sunday morning warm-up.
Most teams ran their co-drivers out in the early stages, while some stayed out and others performed pit stop practice.
Allen and De Pasquale were some of the few main drivers who stayed out to post a lap and just 0.0756s separated them.
The Grove Racing driver emerged ahead with a 2:06.5932, while Holdsworth snuck clear of Feeney.
Allen, Golding, De Pasquale, Holdsworth and Feeney extended their stints to fly into the “fives.”
Again the rookie found the most speed, setting a 2:05.1965, which was again 0.07s clear.
Kostecki again looked fast, setting a purple first sector before being one of the many to head into the lane.
Best was the first to suffer an off-track scare, spearing off at Skyline after clipping the inside wall.
The BRT driver was lucky to escape without any damage, narrowly avoiding the walls and carrying on.

Wood had a close call, finding the wall ever so slightly at Sulman Park, while Mostert
Heimgartner and Jones showed some pace for BJR, getting them into the top six ahead of the closing minutes.
Brown 12th to third before finding more speed on his second push lap to go to the top.
He edged Allen’s benchmark by 0.0267s with a 2:05.1698.
Murray and Stewart did not set a flying lap in anger until the death, where the #99 rose to 17th.
All roads lead to the Great Race at 11.45 AEDT.

'description' => 'The Supercars Championship, currently known as the Repco Supercars Championship, is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia\'s biggest sports. It originated from the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which held its first race in 1960 at Gnoo-Blas in Orange, New South Wales. The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
The Supercars Championship has grown to become a globally recognized series, known for its competitive racing and passionate fan base. It continues to be a major part of Australia\'s motorsport culture, attracting top drivers and teams from around the world.',
