Despite DJR’s Brodie Kostecki setting the pace in the closest qualifying session in the history of Bathurst 1000 and taking pole in the Top 10 Shootout, Kostecki maintained that a Ford could not win…

In what was a wet and wild race, Ford prevailed on the mountain with Grove’s Matt Payne and evergreen Garth Tander taking a spectacular win after Premiair Racing’s Jimmy Golding taking the flag, albeit with a five second penalty pushing him back to second, with David Reynolds and Lee Holdsworth filling the podium.

But it was the young guns that fired up the Mountain, putting on the pressure while the superstars stumbled and tumbled around them.
