Chaz Mostert might have fallen short of Adelaide glory, but he was the man of the hour at the Gala Awards, taking all the big awards.
Not only did Mostert become the first driver to win the new “best and fairest” Jim Richards Medal, but he also won the coveted Barry Sheene Medal and the Drivers’ Driver Award.
It makes Mostert the sixth multiple Barry Sheene medalist, having gone back to back and also winning it last year.
The WAU driver was also voted by the fans as the most popular driver.
The Supercars night of nights saw the big stars of the sport dress up at the Adelaide Convention Centre just one day after the VAILO Adelaide 500.

The Jim Richards Award is the newest addition to the Supercars Gala Awards, and was voted on race-by-race by select competition officials in similar style to the Brownlow or Allan Border Medals.
Mostert equalled his career best championship finish of third in 2024 having taken wins at Wanneroo and Sydney Motorsport Park and was the leading Ford driver.
Despite being second best in the fight for the Super2 title, Aaron Cameron was awarded with the special Mike Kable Young Gun Award having impressed in his first full Dunlop Series season after performing in S5000 and TCR.
The man who won the title, Will Brown, was celebrated as champion.

There was a special addition to the Supercars Hall of Fame with the late Wayne Cattach inducted.
Cattach passed away in August, but was a vital figure behind the rise of the category in the early 2000s working alongside Tony Cochrane, while he also worked with DJR in the 2010s.
After a crowd of 259,400 watched on and sung along with Crowded House and Cold Chisel, the VAILO Adelaide 500 was named as the event of the year.
Popular and longtime photographer Mark Horsburgh received the Supercars Media Award having been at every round since 1997.

'description' => 'The Supercars Championship, currently known as the Repco Supercars Championship, is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia\'s biggest sports. It originated from the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which held its first race in 1960 at Gnoo-Blas in Orange, New South Wales. The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
The Supercars Championship has grown to become a globally recognized series, known for its competitive racing and passionate fan base. It continues to be a major part of Australia\'s motorsport culture, attracting top drivers and teams from around the world.',
