THE STIG DRIVES HONDA TCR AT SMP

Identity unknown- but internationally renowned gun driver ‘The Stig’ from TV show Top Gear took to the track at Sydney Motorsport Park today aboard the Stan Sport Wall Racing Honda Civic Type R TCR to promote the new season of Top Gear as it gets set to premiere in Australia on June 6, on Stan.
Acknowledged as motorsport royalty, The Stig was one of many personalities at Sydney Motorsport Park today, including football legends Craig Foster, Mark Bosnich, Rugby hero Drew Mitchell and business woman and author Roxy Jacenko.
The Stig took Today Show host Belinda Russell for a hot lap, before setting his own pace around the 3.9km Sydney circuit. Later he delivered the Civic Type R TCR back safely into the hands of regular racer Fabian Coulthard who will take his place on the TCR Australia Series grid at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend after missing the last round with COVID.
Although no feedback whatsoever came from the ‘man in white’ it was all in the aid of building excitement ahead of Round 4 of the SpeedSeries at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend, part of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships. The SpeedSeries in Sydney will feature seven racing categories and 15 hours of live and ad-break free coverage on Stan Sport across Saturday and Sunday.
