Hypercar face off

Pagani hypercars at time attack

By Thomas Miles

The 2025 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge will break new ground this weekend as some of the best hypercars in the world face off.

In the new Hypercar Challenge, some of the fastest road-going machines will fly around Sydney Motorsport Park.

The Pagani Zonda R, Pagani Huayra R, Brabham BT62, and Ferrari FXX will all be doing battle in a sight that will excite fans.

The pair of Paganis are lightweight carbon fibre chassis with naturally aspirated V12 engines that produce more than 740 horsepower.

Local fans will be cheering for the Brabham BT62 with an Australian hypercar on show.

Launched in 2018, the mid-mounted 5.4L V8 that produces over 700 horsepower has been seen at numerous events around the country, such as the Adelaide Motorsport Festival and VHRR’s Phillip Island Classic.

To celebrate Brabham’s 70th anniversary in racing, just 70 were made.

Seeing the Brabham BT62 blast down the Brabham Straight will be a sight to see.

Completing the quartet is the Ferrari FXX, which blends a V12 combustion engine with hybrid powertrain technology to produce instantaneous torque and acceleration.

The drivers that will steer these weapons are Supercars stars James Golding and Tim Slade, plus GT driver Fraser Ross.
