RIP Shane Mann

Shell V-Power Motorsport Park is mourning the tragic loss of Aussie Racing Car Series competitor Shane Mann.
Mann has sadly passed away during the AirTouch 500 at The Bend weekend at the age of 50.
He suffered a medical episode on Saturday, which was unrelated to the racing and the category’s second race of the weekend was cancelled.
The South Australian finished a strong 12th in the opening race held on Friday.
Mann sat 16th in the Aussie Racing Cars Series standings ahead of the fifth round at The Bend.
This morning, commentator Matt Naulty announced the tragic news before Race 3, where the front row was left vacant out of respect.
“We are very sad to report we lost one of our great drivers in the field in Shane Mann,” Naulty said.
“All of the cars in the field are carrying tribute stickers, and there will be a tribute for race number four later today.
“Our thoughts are with the Mann family.
“A very, very sad day here for not just the category, but our little tight family that is motorsport.”
Motorsport Australia released the following statement on Saturday.
“Motorsport Australia advises that a critical medical incident has occurred in the paddock at the running of the 2025 AirTouch 500 at The Bend, South Australia,” it read.
“Motorsport Australia extends its condolences to the family and friends of the competitor, and to the officials and first responders at the scene.”
Auto Action sends its heartfelt condolences to Mann’s family and friends, plus the Aussie Racing Cars community.
