Seven reveals Bathurst broadcast details

Molly Taylor

By Thomas Miles

As always, the iconic Bathurst 1000 will remain on free-to-air TV in 2025, and Channel Seven has revealed the details of how fans can tune in.

The 65th edition of the Great Race will be broadcast live on Seven via TV and streaming from Friday to Sunday.

The coverage kicks off at 10.00 AEDT on Friday, October 10, while the Bathurst Day coverage begins at 7.00 AEDT.

Familiar faces Mark Beretta and Mel McLaughlin will anchor the telecast as hosts across the weekend.

Providing expert analyses from the pit lane will be BRT co-driver Jack Perkins and Chris Stubbs, while Emma Freedman will roam around the mountain with the fans.

Just like on Fox Sports as usual, the Supercars TV team of Neil Crompton, Mark Skaife, Mark Larkham, Chad Neylon and Riana Crehan will call the live action.

In addition to the race weekend itself, Seven has added some extra surprises for fans this year.

They can get prepared for the Great Race by enjoying a preview show this Sunday at 12.00 AEDT featuring the likes of current stars Perkins, Garth Tander, Mark Winterbottom, Cameron Waters, Todd Hazelwood and Brodie Kostecki.

Rallying star and 7Sport member Molly Taylor also takes centre stage in the 45-minute documentary special, taking a deep dive into her inspiring career.

Drive Like A Girl premieres at 11.00am, Monday 6 October on 7mate and 7plus Sport.

Taylor is hopeful the show exposes the rollercoaster ride of realities and emotions through her career where she made history in the Australian Rally Championship.

“Sometimes just being fast isn’t enough,” she said.

“We wanted to show the reality of motorsport as a full-time job and the highs and lows that are part of the territory.

“It’s tough for everyone regardless of gender. Crossing the finish line first is always the goal but when you’re a woman competing for the top step of the podium, it isn’t always the biggest challenge.”

Seven’s Head of Motorsport, Angela Rampal is looking forward to the channel’s biggest weekend of motorsport of the year.

“Following a massive month of sport on Seven and 7plus Sport, we cannot wait to deliver every nail-biting moment of the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000, which is without a doubt the biggest weekend on the Australian motorsport calendar,” she said.

“The calibre of the field this year is guaranteed to provide us with an action-packed race, and I can’t wait to see what the Mountain throws our way this year. Whether it be wildlife or cars running out of fuel on the last lap, it’s no wonder Australians nationwide are captivated by this truly iconic event.

“Once again, Seven has lined up an incredible broadcast team to lead viewers through 26 hours of live and free coverage, including hosts Mark Beretta and Mel McLaughlin, with excellent reporters including Jack Perkins, Emma Freedman and Chris Stubbs.

“It’s going to be massive, and we cannot wait to present every thrilling moment, live and free all weekend long on Seven and 7plus Sport.”
