COULTHARD LOCKED IN FOR TCR RETURN

Fabian Coulthard will take his place on the TCR Australia Series grid at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend after missing the last round with COVID.
The experienced racer will take the reins of the Stan Sport Wall Racing Honda Civic Type R TCR he took to a pair of victories at Phillip Island in March, as part of a 21-entry field for the three-day event at SMP.
History will be made at the Sydney venue as TCR Australia will race under lights for the first time as part of a three-race schedule.
Coulthard’s Wall Racing teammate Tony D’Alberto enters the weekend as the standings leader, 37 points clear of inaugural series winner Will Brown and Garry Rogers Motorsport Peugeot driver Dylan O’Keeffe.
Aaron Cameron will be out to build on his momentum from Mount Panorama, where he took two race victories in his GRM Peugeot.
The Hyundai crop will also be confident heading to SMP, a venue which has suited the Korean machines previously. HMO Customer Racing youngster Bailey Sweeny will lead that charge, having taken his maiden victory at Bathurst.
Hyundai will be represented by five entries, Sweeny joined by Josh Buchan and Nathan Morcom in the HMO Customer Racing line-up, with Brad Shiels and Luke King running privateer Hyundai campaigns.
Michael Caruso won at SMP in 2021 and returns in the Ashley Seward Motorsport Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR, while Braydana Willmington will also enter one of the Italian hatches.
James Moffat and Kody Garland will represent Renault at Eastern Creek, while Jay Hanson will return in his latest specification Audi RS3 LMS TCR which has been repaired since Bathurst by Melbourne Performance Centre.
After a whirlwind start to his season, Zac Soutar will be pushing his title credentials in a Honda.
Fans can catch all the action live, on-demand and uninterrupted on Stan Sport covering 15 hours of racing, while 9Gem will broadcast two hours live on Saturday night from 5:30pm.
Stan is offering 7-day free trials. Sign up now to watch all of the SpeedSeries action this weekend.
