Wallis Motorsport secures Ford junior star Jenson Altzman for The Bend

Ford junior star Jenson Altzman joins Wallis Motorsport for The Bend GT Festival

Wallis Motorsport has scored a major coup ahead of next month’s GT Festival at The Bend, signing Ford Performance Junior Team driver Jenson Altzman to partner Jack Wallis in the fifth round of the 2025 Monochrome GT4 Australia season.

Altzman, a 23-year-old Californian and rising Ford factory-backed talent, will make his Australian debut in the Mustang GT4, stepping into the South Australian family squad after a strong season in the United States.

Wallis has contested two of the four rounds this year, sharing with father Adam and uncle Jed in a true family affair, but the arrival of Altzman signals a step up in ambition as the team targets Silver Class honours at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park.

The move was facilitated by Andrew Miedecke, who connected the parties after the Sandown GT Festival. Altzman and Wallis will team up for the first time in Friday practice at The Bend from September 5–7.

Altzman’s credentials are strong. He has been part of the Ford Performance Junior program since 2023, competing with McCumbee McAleer Racing in the US and accumulating numerous podiums, including a recent victory at Road America earlier this month. This season he has also driven the Mustang Dark Horse R in the Mustang Challenge Le Mans Invitational and the Mustang GT3 in sprint racing, making him the first Ford junior to experience the full Mustang sports car lineup.

“It’s been a pleasure strategising and preparing for The Bend with Adam and Jack,” Altzman said. “It seems like a great fit already, and I’m excited to compete in the top-level Silver Class with them. I cannot thank George and Andrew Miedecke enough for facilitating this opportunity.

“It’ll be an exciting challenge to jump right into the weekend with no testing and with a new tyre. I know the Mustang GT4 quite well, and the pressure of getting up to speed quickly will be exhilarating, similar to what I had to do in Le Mans. I want to use my knowledge of Mustang GT4 to help lead Wallis Motorsport to a great result.”

Jack Wallis, who has stepped up this season from Silver-Am to Silver, is relishing the opportunity to learn from a driver embedded in Ford’s international development program.

“I am extremely excited to have someone of Jenson’s calibre alongside me for GT Festival at The Bend and I will use the opportunity to learn everything I can from him,” Jack said. “Jenson has had a strong pathway in the sport with Ford Performance and it’s something I aspire to do myself, so to have him alongside me for this event is awesome.”

Team boss Adam Wallis said the timing of the deal was perfect for the squad’s growth.

“It was nice for Jed and myself to drive with Jack at different points of the year, but I think having someone like Jenson in the car will be highly beneficial for Jack’s development going forward,” Adam said. “It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster season so far for Wallis Motorsport, but having Jenson come to Australia is an extreme positive and I have no doubt the pair will offer a serious challenge to some of the other Silver drivers.

“We’re excited to host Jenson and a big thank you to Andrew Miedecke for setting us up with him. We’re looking forward to what he will bring to the team for GT Festival at The Bend.”
