Cox locks in TCR return

The TCR Australia grid is slowly starting to take shape, with Jordan Cox being the first GRM driver confirmed.
Cox has been a mainstay of the GRM team since 2019 and is the first locked in to steer one of the new Peugeot 308 P51s.
The P51 made its debut at Sydney last year, where Cox took a breakthrough win in just its second race.

He is one of the leading lights in TCR with nine wins, putting him second all-time in TCR Australia.
Although there has been no TCR Australia action so far in 2025, Cox has stayed racing fit by turning his attention to Trans Am.
He has started in solid fashion with two podiums, pushing him to fifth in the championship.
With both TCR and Trans Am on the schedule at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend, Cox will be performing double duties.
It is a challenge he is looking forward to having missed the Peugeot’s presence.
“I’m absolutely excited. I haven’t been able to race TCR this year, but I still love it and have definitely missed it,” Cox said.
“The category brings such a tough racing style, and while Trans Am is similar in that way, they are two very different categories.
“The power difference is the biggest thing, after I first jumped out of a Trans Am and into a TCR last year I thought the handbrake was on!
“Aerodynamically, you can lean on that area of the car a lot more in the TCR and the braking points are a bit deeper so there’s just a lot of mental notes to be aware of jumping between the two as I will at The Bend.
“I’m up for the challenge of double duties, I did it once last year, I certainly won’t be short of racing laps and it will be awesome to represent Schaeffler and my personal partners Viola Private Wealth across two different categories in the one weekend.
“We’ll be on the world stage for TCR which is super cool but I’m really not concerned about the spotlight, it’s just about focusing on doing the best job possible for the team in what’s going to be a super competitive field filled with the world’s best.”
