Krikke Motorsport have locked in one of their biggest seasons yet, with more than 40 nights of racing confirmed for 2025-26 and an earlier than usual start at Darwin’s Chariots of Thunder in August.

The Bunbury-based team will celebrate their 46th year in Sprintcars with Dayne Kingshott again behind the wheel of the WA #2 Mobil 1/Bunbury Toyota Maxim. The program includes the full Maddington Toyota Series, the High Limit International, potential east coast trips, and a three-weekend stint in the Northern Territory to open the year.

“We are really excited for what is in front of us this season, we have never had a schedule with over 40 nights and so much travelling,” said team manager Ryan Krikke. “If everything goes to plan we will have three full-time guys and more inventory than we’ve ever had before. We keep going to another level every season and after finishing last year on a high, we are confident of enjoying another strong summer.”

The season begins at Darwin’s Northline Speedway on 22 August, part of the Chariots of Thunder festival, which is again shaping up as one of the biggest Sprintcar shows in the country. The event brings together leading drivers from across all states and territories, with more than 40 Sprintcars and a stacked field of Wingless Sprints already entered.

Local stars including Jordyn Charge and Lachlan Cole will defend home turf against national heavyweights like Jamie Veal, Jock Goodyer, Lachlan McHugh and Kingshott himself. The Wingless Sprints will also feature the nation’s best, led by current Australian champion Tyson Martin.

The festival runs across two weekends with racing under Darwin’s dry season skies, an atmosphere that has turned the Chariots of Thunder into a must-do event for teams and fans alike. Off-track, the Mitchell Street Motorcade returns on 10 September, with cars and drivers parading through the city before a free fan night at the Darwin Waterfront.

For Krikke Motorsport, the Northern Territory swing is both a celebration and a challenge, marking the start of a long summer that will test the depth of the crew and equipment. “We couldn’t keep raising the bar without the commitment from Matty, Dayne, all the crew guys and our partners, sponsors and supporters,” Krikke said. “That gives us the confidence we’ve got the right ingredients for another good summer.”
