Adelaide Grand Final key part of AC/DC Aussie tour

AC/DC rocking in Pittsburgh

By Thomas Miles

The 2025 BP Adelaide Grand Final will be high voltage on and off the track with Australia’s most famous rock band, AC/DC, the headline act.

The Supercars season finale will be the only South Australian show in AC/DC’s nationwide Power Up Tour in November.

The rock legends complete the entertainment lineup for the Adelaide Grand Final with Amyl and the Sniffers supporting.

Lenny Kravitz and Jet will headline Saturday’s show before AC/DC closes the Supercars season with some TNT in an unforgettable Sunday night concert.

If tickets were not already highly sought after for the first title decider under the new Supercars finals format, Sunday is almost certain to be sold out now.

The Supercars entertainment will be the only AC/DC concert in South Australia with one show in each of the five states.

It is AC/DC’s first Australian tour in a decade, where 53,000 fans packed the Adelaide Oval.

The band remains as iconic as ever, with Supercars fans set to see the one and only lead guitarist, Angus Young strut his stuff in his unmistakable cap at 70 years young.

Brian Johnson is still a powerful presence on vocals, bursting out all the much-loved lyrics.

Rhythm guitarist Stevie Young completes the record-breaking group, drummer Matt Laug and bass player Chris Chaney.

Over the years the likes of Kiss, Status Quo, Robbie Williams, Cold Chisel, Crowded House, INXS, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and more, but this could be the biggest yet.

Adelaide is a big part of AC/DC history, given Bob Scott joined the band on stage for the first time at the Pooraka Hotel in 1974.

“The world’s greatest rock and roll band headlining the greatest motorsport event in the country. It’s hard to imagine a better fit,” said South Australian Premier, Peter Malinauskas.

“AC/DC have a long and rich connection to our city and we are thrilled to welcome the band to headline the bp Adelaide Grand Final as we usher in a new era of racing.

“The event will provide a unique high-octane, high voltage, high energy experience not only for local fans, but those who choose to follow this international rock’n’roll juggernaut around the world.

“This is the hottest ticket in town – and we’ve worked hard to ensure South Australians can access it from as little as $99 for an Adult General Admission for the Sunday.”

The Adelaide Grand Final is on November 27-30.
