Feeney takes crushing Perth pole

Broc Feeney keeps getting better as the Perth Super440 progresses, taking pole for Wanneroo’s 100th race by a commanding two tenths.
In a treacherous Top 10 Shootout where a supports crash left a mess in the “Bowl” Feeney nailed it.
His 54.7025 was a cut above the rest, being 0.2079s clear of Cameron Waters.
Waters won a tight battle for second and made a big leap from seventh to second after edging out Will Brown and Matt Payne.
De Pasquale was the pioneer and the first caught out by the dirt left at Kolb Corner.
As a result, his 55.8346 was no match for Golding, who beat it by seven tenths, with most of that time found by running a tighter line at the sweeper.

Golding’s 55.1202 proved two tenths too good for Hill, Fullwood and Wood, with the latter slightly wide at the only real left-hander.
But the session was brought into a new dimension when Waters arrived as the first on green tyres and in the 54s window.
Brown was the first driver to threaten the Monster Mustang with a purple second sector, but the reigning champion fell 0.0782s short after “stuffing up and getting a bit of push in Turn 1.”
Payne also went on the attack, nailing the first split, but had to settle for third at the time despite being 0.0909s short.
Reynolds “made it up as I went along” and fell from provisional second to the end of the top five on roaded tyres, but it was still easily his best of the year.

All eyes were on Feeney at the end of the session and he delivered.
He found time in all three sectors to blow the rest away despite a late moment.
“That was bloody awesome. I locked the front at the last corner, but knew in the first few sectors it was a good lap,” Feeney said.
Feeney looks very tough to beat as attention turns to the 100th ATCC/Supercars race at Wanneroo this evening.

'description' => 'The Supercars Championship, currently known as the Repco Supercars Championship, is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia\'s biggest sports. It originated from the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which held its first race in 1960 at Gnoo-Blas in Orange, New South Wales. The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
The Supercars Championship has grown to become a globally recognized series, known for its competitive racing and passionate fan base. It continues to be a major part of Australia\'s motorsport culture, attracting top drivers and teams from around the world.',
