Randle to Race For A Cure at Bathurst

Randle Kavich Bathurst 6 Hour

By Thomas Miles

Tickford Supercars star Thomas Randle will team up with Ben and Michael Kavich to race for a special cause at this weekend’s Bathurst 6 Hour.

Randle and the Kavich brothers will be steering a pink livered Race For A Cure BMW M2 Coupe at Mount Panorama and are chasing victory.

It is the second year in a row the Kavich family has been joined by Randle after the trio finished a strong fourth overall and in X Class in 2023 on the lead lap.

It was the Kavich brothers’ best finish at the 6 Hour having previously placed 10th and seventh.

But the BMW will be racing for more than just silverware with the trio hoping to raise funds for Race For A Cure and awareness of lifesaving breast cancer clinical trials research.

Race For A Cure was founded by Toula Kavich (Ben Kavich’s wife) following her breast cancer diagnosis immediately after the inaugural Bathurst 6 Hour back in 2016.

Since starting Race For A Cure in 2017, the Kavich family has raised over $175,000 for Breast Cancer Trials research.

Randle, who has also fought his own cancer battle back in 2020 is determined to give it everything in the BMW.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be racing again with Ben and Michael, especially supporting a cause that’s particularly close to my heart. Hopefully, we can get a great result in the X Class,” he said.

Ben Kavich said he hopes the 2024 campaign can be the most successful on and off the track.

“Michael and I are looking forward to the race more than ever and we are excited that Thomas has decided to join us again, along with Yellow and BCT,” he said.

“We are hoping for an even stronger showing both on the track and importantly in the fundraising than was achieved last year.”
