Erebus Motorsport has a new “game changing” tool for its campaign to defend the Supercars Championship title in 2024.
A “significant investment” has led to Erebus acquiring a state-of-the-art laser scanning tool.
This device is capable of mapping and measuring car and component dimensions across the entire car with extra precision.
It will also allow the team to accurately assess damage without requiring a jig, which could accelerate repairs to get the car back on track earlier.
The laser scanner was introduced this week ahead of the new season and Erebus Motorsport engineer George Commins believes it will be a “game-changer” with the defending champions the first to use such technology.
“With this state-of-the-art laser scanning tool, we’re pushing the boundaries of precision engineering in Australian motorsport,” he said.
“As far as we’re aware, no other team in Australia is currently utilising this technology.
“It’s a game-changer for us and sets a new standard for innovation in the sport.”
This week sees the triumphant return of the Auto Action Rev Limiter which tackles all sorts of topics from Brodie Kostecki to Christian Horner, black F1 cars and DanRic. And, of course, the Bathurst 12-Hour race
