Brown gets it done in Tassie opener

Brown survived the early challenge out front to take his second Supercars win of the season from pole, as the hairpin played a role in shaping Race 10.
Just like at Perth Brown was assertive in the clean air, holding off Andre Heimgartner who matched it lap by lap with the #9 Erebus Camaro, as SVG stormed up 6 spots to claim P3 with a last lap take over of Cam Waters.
It was hard luck for Kostecki after moving up early, as he lost out at the hairpin in an entertaining battle with Waters, with Mostert also getting rear ended by Feeney which cost both drivers dearly with Mostert finishing in the sheds.
It was also a good race for rookie Cam Hill, as the MSR racer made it two top-tens for the team with a career high P8, finishing just behind his teammate Jack Le Brocq.
With that victory – the 21-year-old’s third in Supercars – Brown also moves into third in the championship, with Mostert dropping into fourth, and SVG taking second with his podium.

Race 10 of the season got underway with Brown on pole next to Le Brocq, with Waters and Kostecki looking to attack from the second row.
At the flag Brown held the inside into Turn 2 with Waters making his first round of contact with Kostecki who took P3.
Courtney got all locked up into the grass at Turn 6 on the wrong side of Pye and made his way back to lane.
Kostecki and Le Brocq bumped doors with the Erebus driver moving into P2 as mayhem unfurled at the hairpin with Waters squeezing Kostecki into the wall with Mostert then getting turned by Feeney as the championship leader was dropped into P23.
SVG moved into P5 as the #34 MSR dropped back as the race stayed green, with Heimgartner into P3 over Hill, with Brown holding a +1.395 split to Waters.

Mostert was out with steering rack damage as Feeney limped at the rear with body damage, as Kostecki managed to resume in a bid for classification.
The front three had gapped the chasing field by lap 12 with SVG up five spots into P4.
Pye pitted early to run 29 laps on fresh rights, as Waters was the fastest on track, managing to shave some tenths off the Brown lead.
At the halfway point the two leaders matched pace, as Brown gained those tenths back as Waters and Heimgartner pitted on Lap 22.
Brown went in on 23 for a right side change to leave SVG out front to run late, with the #9 Erebus rejoining in P9 as the highest pitter.
SVG took rears on Lap 27, coming out +5s behind Waters in effective P3.

Brown resumed the overall lead by lap 30, as the top three matched speeds to hold the gap to P4, Although the #97 had fresher tyres but little time to close the gap.
Heimgartner found something extra to threaten a race win, getting the gap to under a second with 7 laps to race, but Brown kept finding the answers with consistent lapping.
Waters faded fast in the last lap, as SVG stormed through to hunt him down, taking the inside line on Turn 6 to relegate the Tickford driver into P4.
Pye claimed P5 over Slade who raced smart for a well earned P6, with Le Brocq, Hill, Percat and Randle filling the top ten.
