Heimgartner takes P2 in fast final practice

Life proved happier on the Super Soft Dunlops in the second practice, with Heimgartner going under one forty eight to take P1.
The second Supercars Practice session got underway without van Gisbergen and Slade on track, with both teams scrambling to make the afternoons Qualifying.
Drivers took up the Super Softs for Practice 2, and the times tumbled around the grippier Albert Park track.
De Pasquale started well again, as in P1, going top early over Feeney and his DJR teammate Will Davison.
Feeney then put in a very quick 48 dead on the Super softs, to sit over Fullwood and Reynolds ticking down to the 20 minute mark, proving a significant difference in the grip level.
Cam Hill went P2 on a 1:49.06, a full second of Feeney’s flyer, whilst Macualey Jones also put in some solid laps to go P5.
With both the DJR’s looking a lot nicer in their flow from Newcastle, with Davison going under the 49 second mark, with Le Brocq and Brown also going under 49 to be P2 and P3.
Waters then flew into P1 with a 1:47.917 over Feeney, with Reynolds, Winterbottom and Courtney all goon inside the top five.
Under the five minute mark, the top-five held fast, with somewhere close around to the 48 flat and under mark looking like the qualifying aim.
Heimgartner swooped extremely late with a 1:47.870 to go top, as did De Pasquale to take P2 over Waters, Feeney, and Courtney.
The next session is the double qualifying hit-out for Races 1 and 2, with the 19 lap Race 1 coming this afternoon at 16:50.

'description' => 'The Supercars Championship, currently known as the Repco Supercars Championship, is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia\'s biggest sports. It originated from the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which held its first race in 1960 at Gnoo-Blas in Orange, New South Wales. The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
The Supercars Championship has grown to become a globally recognized series, known for its competitive racing and passionate fan base. It continues to be a major part of Australia\'s motorsport culture, attracting top drivers and teams from around the world.',
