CHADHA BATHURST 1000 WILDCARD CONFIRMED

By Auto Action

Long time Super2 campaigner Matthew Chahda is set to make his Supercars main game debut as Bathurst 1000 Wildcard

Having logged 45 Super2 starts and with a career high 4th place finish in the 2021 season, the 28 year old, Albury based Super2 veteran is set to make his main game Supercars Championship debut via a wildcard entry at this year’s Bathurst 1000.

Racing a Walkinshaw Andretti United ZB Commodore, Matt Chahda Motorsport will supplement its Dunlop Super2 resources with minor support from WAU and has enlisted seasoned Supercars engineer Wally Storey to act as Team Manager.

Racing is a family affair for the Chahda’s, who have been one of the regular performers in Super2 over the past few seasons and the team makeup which won’t change for the Bathurst Wildcard, with Amin Chahda Team Principal of Matt Chahda Motorsport in charge of the entry.

“We are delighted that Supercars has granted us a wildcard for Bathurst. Our family has shared Matt’s dream of driving in main game, and after six seasons in Super2, we will do everything in our power to make his debut a success.” said Amin Chahda.

“We would like to thank Bruce Stewart and the team at WAU for their support in providing one of their chassis and engines to support this entry.”

The MCM team is currently working through options on who will share the drive with Matt, and will soon announce their naming rights partner for the event.

Matthew Chahda was excited about confirming the deal and said “As drivers we aspire to take part in Australia’s great race, to have the opportunity this year is an absolute highlight for me. My sincere thanks to my MCM family, sponsors, Supercars and WAU for helping make this a reality for me.”
