The broadcast team for Stan Sport’s SpeedSeries has been revealed ahead of the opening round in Tasmania this weekend.

Seasoned sports broadcaster Matt White will host Stan’s coverage, with experience commentating the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, MotoGP, IndyCar and Supercars under his belt.

White was an integral part of Network 10 and Seven’s motorsports broadcasts as both host and commentator, including the Supercars coverage. He has also hosted and commentated a vast range of sports over a three-decade career.

“I’m really excited to be part of a new broadcasting era in Australian motorsport and part of such a talented on-air team,” White said.

“The Speed Series is different, it’s broad, it’s fun – and we can’t wait to take it to a whole new level with Stan Sport and Nine. I can’t wait to get back into it.”

Accompanying White will be motorsport figures Molly Taylor, Chris Stubbs, Greg Rust, Richard Craill, Matt Naulty and TCR Australia driver Michael Caruso.

Stubbs will act as co-host and lead reporter, while Rust is set to share his time between the commentary box and pit lane.

Rust will miss the Race Tasmania opener due to border restrictions in New Zealand, but will return from Phillip Island onwards.

Taylor returns for her second year with the ARG commentary team, fresh off winning the inaugural Extreme E Championship and competing in Dakar.

“I’m really happy to return for another year of broadcasting. My first year with the team was great fun and I can’t wait to get into the 2022 SpeedSeries,” Taylor said.

“I look forward to working with the ARG broadcast team, all of the different racing categories, and the teams and drivers are a pleasure to work with.

“To join Stan Sport, and be at the forefront of something new in sports media, is an exciting opportunity. I’m proud to be involved with such a great group of professionals and look forward to creating something special.”

Executive Producer Andrew Janson will lead the broadcast, with support from the Supercars Media team which will oversee the facilitation and technical side of the production.

Australian Racing Group CEO Matt Braid was ecstatic about the talent assembled for the 2022 season.

“The Australian Racing Group, in conjunction with our new media and broadcast partner Stan Sport, are thrilled to announce our commentary team for the 2022 SpeedSeries,” Braid said.

“This is arguably the best team of broadcast talent in the country. Professional, knowledgeable and dedicated to delivering you, the fans, with the most entertaining and informative motorsport coverage possible.”

The SpeedSeries will be available to stream ad-free, live and on demand on Stan Sport, with live coverage also on the 9Network.

Stan Sport will cover the Race Tasmania action from 1-5pm AEDT on both Saturday and Sunday (February 12-13), delivering all qualifying sessions and races from the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, S5000 Australian Drivers Championship and the Turtle Wax Trans Am Series.

The 9Network’s GEM channel will broadcast live and free motorsport from 3-5pm on Saturday and then between 1-3pm on Sunday.

International race fans, including New Zealand residents, will be able to watch the coverage on Motorsport.tv.

Race Tasmania will kick off the Australian motorsport season from February 11-13 at Symmons Plains Raceway.
