MA Nationals coming back in 2026

The Motorsport Australia Nationals will return in 2026 with a new look, featuring national-level meetings across the country.
The yet-to-be-revealed calendar for the 2026 Motorsport Australia Nationals aims to fill a gap in the country’s domestic series outside of the SpeedSeries and Supercars.
It comes after Motorsport Australia handed over the long-running SpeedSeries to SRO Motorsports Group in 2025.
However, under SRO’s guidance, it has been focused on GTs with GT World Challenge Australia and GT4 in the spotlight over the likes of National Sports Sedans, Touring Car Masters, TCR and Trans Am.
This has left national categories such as Sports Sedans and Formula Ford to resort to state rounds, where there is less coverage available.
In an attempt to fill this void, Motorsport Events Manager David Mori, and experienced event and category manager Liam Curkpatrick have joined forces.
The pair are currently working with circuits and clubs to establish a flexible calendar that meets the needs of circuits, clubs and individual categories.
“The Nationals provides national-level categories with a safe, well-organised series of events for competitors to race in, while also supporting event promoters by offering coordinated access to these categories within existing or stand-alone events,” said Mori
“Importantly, it provides promoters with a platform that is controlled, sound and financially viable.”
General Manager of Motorsport Operations at Motorsport Australia David Stuart believes it will be a boost to many categories.
“In 2026 the Nationals brings a bigger platform that delivers more event options, broadcast packages and more opportunities for categories to experience some of the best circuits around the country,” said Stuart.
Whilst a calendar is yet to be revealed, one track that will feature is Sydney Motorsport Park.
“The ARDC looks forward to supporting greater participation through the Motorsport Australia Nationals,” Glenn Matthews, CEO of the Australian Racing Drivers Club confirmed.
