MAIDEN GEN3 CAMARO TEST ON TUESDAY

It has been confirmed by Mark Larkham that the Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro will make its on track debut on Tuesday.
Last week the Ford Mustang Gen3 machine hit the track for the first time at Queensland Raceway with Alex Davison behind the wheel and just six days later will be followed by the Camaro.
Like the Mustang the Camaro will be driven at Queensland Raceway before its public unveiling on December 3.
Larkham expressed that he is very excited about the Gen3 era having seen and heard both the Mustang and Camaro.
“The Camaro wow, we’re out on Tuesday at Willowbank (Queensland Raceway) with that, so I’m really, really excited about that. We’re in a pretty good space, aren’t we?” He asked rhetorically.
With full-time drivers Shane van Gisbergen and Jamie Whincup stuck in New South Wales it is expected that next year’s #88 driver Broc Feeney will jump behind the wheel.
Larkham stressed that the Gen3 machines are going to be something to see and is very keen for the 2023 season to commence.
“I’ve been fortunate to be doing the series about it (it’s progression),” he said.
“I was out on Wednesday at Willowbank with the guys when it (the Mustang) ran for the very first time, we videoed it all.
“The IP is very sensitive, so the manufacturers don’t want to show it until we get to Bathurst.
“But I can tell you I’ve seen it, I’ve been with it, that is a wonderful, marvellous looking and sounding race car, seriously makes the current Mustang look pretty ordinary.”
Both cars will make their public debut at the Bathurst 1000 on Friday December 3, and will run demonstration laps at every event next year.

The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
