TCR Australia returnee Chelsea Angelo will compete in the next round of the series at Phillip Island on March 12-14 with additional backing.

Driving a Melbourne Performance Centre Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR previously driven by Aaron Cameron, Angelo retains primary support from Astrontech, but welcomes Sparesbox and Code Black Coffee Roasters as new partners.

It will be Angelo’s first event since the cancelled Asia Pacific Cup last March, which was to support the Australian Grand Prix. She missed the opening round at Symmons Plains due to budget and personal commitments.

Angelo welcomed the new support, which bolsters her attack at Phillip Island and hopes this grows into a full-season campaign.

“It’s great to welcome Sparebox and Code Black Coffee Roasters into my TCR Australia program for Phillip Island,” said Angelo.

“At this stage, it’s only a one-off deal for me to be on the grid, but I’m hoping that some good results will mean that we can press on for the remaining rounds of the season.

“Phillip Island is one off my favourite tracks, and I’ve had some really good results there in the past, so I can’t wait to get the Astrontech Golf down there and get back into it.”

It is expected Angelo will be one of more than 20 entries for the second round of TCR Australia at Phillip Island, which doubles as the opening weekend for the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships

The S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship, the maiden round for a relaunched GT World Challenge Australia, Trans Am National Series, Porsche Sprint Challenge and various local Victorian categories make up the program.
