Taylor makes more history

Australian rallying pioneer Molly Taylor has made more history by winning the first-ever FIA Extreme H World Cup alongside teammate Kevin Hansen.
The new hydrogen-powered series finished last weekend with the Jameel Motorsport pair dominating the eight-car final in Saudi Arabia.
They overcame a challenge from Klara Andersson and Timo Scheider.
Hansen won the first heat where he did not have to serve a 10s penalty after being unable to a avoid a red flag.
Top two results in the following heats ensured the Jameel Motorsport team started on pole in the final with 37 of 50 possible points accumulated.
Hansen started strong and established a lead before handing over to Taylor and the Australian finished the job in dominant style, completing an unchallenged win.
“To be part of the first ever hydrogen-powered racing championship and to stand on the top step is incredibly special,” Taylor said.
“This series represents the future of motorsport; competitive, innovative, and purpose-driven; and I’m proud to have played a role in its first chapter.”
Having been the first female to win ARC titles, stand on a JWRC podium before winning the inaugural Extreme E title, she can now add Extreme H to that growing list.
“Wow! It’s been such an intense few weeks out here in Saudi and particularly the last week,” she wrote on social media.
“3 days, 3 disciplines all leading into the final 8 car race. This win feels particularly special for SO many reasons.
“Huge thank you to Jameel Motorsport for their faith in us, the mega crew at QEV, of course Kev and everyone who’s had our backs on the road to get here!”
