Webb makes Bathurst comeback

By Thomas Miles

For the second year in a row, Jonathon Webb will return to the Mountain in the Super2 Series.

Last year he made an unexpected comeback with Eggleston Motorsport and in 2025 he will take on Mount Panorama in a Masterton Motorsports Mustang.

Webb has plenty of Bathurst pedigree, winning both the Great Race and 12 Hour in 2016 famously.

The 2009 Super2 champion will add plenty of experience to the development series field having raced in Supercars for more than a decade.

His full-time career was highlighted by a special win in the infamously wet Sydney 500 finale of 2010, while his last Supercars start was a co-drive at PremiAir.

At Bathurst last year Webb finished 11th in the round.

Webb is looking forward to returning to the Super2 Series.

“It’s always special coming back to Bathurst,” Webb said. “James and the team at Masterton Motorsports have done a great job getting the Mustang ready, and having the support of Nulon makes it even better.

“They’re passionate about Australian motorsport, and it’s great to have them involved.

“The Super2 grid is full of strong drivers.

“Our aim is to run cleanly, stay consistent, and build speed through each session.”
