Erebus brings Chiko colours back to the Mountain

Jobe Stewart and Cooper Murray at Bathurst

By Thomas Miles

As Erebus Motorsport aims to retain the Peter Brock Trophy, it has brought back its winning Chiko colours.

The Chiko Camaro will return to the Mountain, but this time with new drivers behind the wheel in rookies Cooper Murray and Jobe Stewart, who have replaced the DJR bound Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood.

The 2025 livery has some modifications from the famous 2024 scheme, which was used by Murray on debut at the Sydney 500.

Murray and Stewart enter the biggest race of the year with confidence after a promising run at The Bend.

Stewart held firm against the much more experienced full-time stars, while Murray has showcased his raw speed throughout his rookie campaign and the pair recorded a solid seventh.

Now to be taking on the Great Race, it is a dream come true for both of them.

“Bathurst is the race you dream about your whole life,” Cooper said. “To return in 2025 in these colours after what the team achieved last year is surreal. It’s a huge challenge, but we’re going in ready to give it everything.”

Stewart echoed the excitement.

“I’ve watched this race since I was a kid, and to now be making my debut in the Chiko Camaro is something I’ll never forget,” he said. “It’s an incredible brand to represent, and I can’t wait to get stuck in with Cooper.”

The livery launch was matched with the unveiling of the “Chikorado”, a Chiko-themed Silverado that will be front and centre across the weekend, extending the brand’s presence beyond pit lane.

Erebus CEO Barry Ryan believes his new Chiko stars can be the dark horses of the race.

“Last year’s win with Brodie and Todd was amazing for the sport, for Erebus and for Chiko,” he said.

“This year, we approach the Mountain as underdogs again, but that’s what drives us.

“We’re proud to unveil this livery, the new Chiko Silverado, and to give fans a true Bathurst experience with Chiko at the centre of it.”
