Another shot at victory for Van Gisbergen

Boosted by his oval breakthrough, Shane van Gisbergen can head to the final road course of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series with supreme confidence.
Last start at Kansas, van Gisbergen broke through to his top 10 result on an oval and now he heads to area he excels at.
The Trackhouse Racing Kiwi will enjoy one last crack at a road course in his rookie season.
SVG has already made an immense impact with four wins at Sonoma, Mexico, Chicago and Watkins Glen.
The #88 driver would love to show off his Supercars skills one last time at the Charlotte ROVAL this weekend.
Van Gisbergen finished seventh and third in the Cup and Xfinity Series, respectively last year at the part oval, part road course layout at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
“I’m excited. I always enjoy turning right!” Van Gisbergen laughed.
“It’s a track I’ve been too before, and I did decent there last year in both Cup and Xfinity.
“It’s definitely a little different than your average road course, but it’s a lot of fun.
“Hopefully it will be a great weekend!”
Van Gisbergen admitted it was a weight off his shoulders to get the oval top 10 as he feels more at home in the unfamilar style of racing.
“It feels great, it was an awesome day!” Van Gisbergen said.
“It was good to get our first top-10 in Kansas.
“Wasn’t ideal that we had to go a lap down at the start but just continued to work our way forward. “Took me some time to get confident, but the car was really good and it allowed me to have confidence in myself as the race progressed.
“Really stoked for that finish and proud of all my guys on the 88 team.
“We are getting a lot better at these (ovals).”
The Bank Of America Roval 400 takes place at 6.00 AEDT Monday, October 6.
