Supercars PIRTEK Pit Stop Challenge returns for 2025

By Timothy Neal

The Supercars PIRTEK Pit Stop Challenge returns with a 12 race preliminary series, kicking off at the Sydney 500 in 11 days time, with the Triple Eight crew set to defend the Golden Rattle Gun.

The T8 crew took it out for the first time in 2024 as the Red Bull Ampol team swept up everything last season, denying the BJR garage a sixth straight Golden Rattle Gun.

The Pit Stop Challenge will continue as a team-based format, with each team defined by a pit boom and comprising two cars. The fastest pit stop from either car in each race will contribute to the team’s points tally.

Points will be awarded per race on a descending scale, with the fastest stop earning 13 points and the slowest earning 1 point. The 12 preliminary races will determine the top four teams that will compete in the live final.
