FEENEY CONFIRMED FOR NZGP ONE-OFF

By Auto Action

Triple Eight Supercars racer Broc Feeney is set to confirm the news that AUTO ACTION brought you three weeks ago that he is to contest the upcoming New Zealand Grand Prix, up against his Red Bull Supercars team-mate Will Brown.

The NZGP, the grand finale event of the 2025 Castrol Formula Regional Oceania Championship, will be run at Tony Quinn’s Highlands circuit, near Queenstown in NZ, on February 9.

The opportunity has arisen due to US drive Josh Pierson, who is driving with the mtec Motorsport team and currently fourth in the points, having to miss the final round of the series due to testing commitments back in the States.

Feeney and Brown will head to NZ immediately after contesting next week’s Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour, and (Feeney – mtec Motorsport; Brown – Giles Motorsport) will drive for different teams in the Grand Prix.

Brown has already contested the two opening rounds in NZ, taking two podiums from the six races. He will miss the third round of the series, this weekend, in order to better prepare for the 12 Hour – his spot is being taken by Tommy Smith, ex-FIA F3 and getting miles as he prepares to head to the US to contest the Indy NXT series this year.

After the first two rounds, Brit Arvid Lindblad is racing away with the series – three wins and three podiums (including two from the reverse grid race) sees him with 164 points, to kiwi contender Zack Scoular (one win, 139 points) and US driver Nikita Johnson (116), consistent, with a single podium.
