Bathurst 12 Hour schedule unveiled

By Thomas Miles

The schedule for the 2025 Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour has arrived with Track to Town, support classes and even Supercars testing to take place.

The 2025 running of the 12 Hour around Mount Panorama will take place from Friday, January 31 to Sunday, February 2 with the GT stars to hit the track on nine separate occasions.

Joining the main event will be the new Ferrari Challenge Australia and Combined Sedans as support categories.

Before all that begins however, there will be the now familiar and popular Track to Town event where fans will get up close with the stars and their cars.

That will take place from 10.30-13.00 on Thursday afternoon in the middle of Bathurst.

Whilst the attention will be on the GT cars fighting for 12 Hour glory, Supercars will actually be the first cars on track.

A 25-minute testing window at the crack of dawn at 7.20 Thursday morning has been added to the schedule.

A Tickford Ford Mustang and Team 18 Camaro will also be on track twice on Saturday to gather data for the new 2025 tyre.

” It’s an extension of the work we did with the same two cars at Tailem Bend in December,” Supercars General Manager of Motorsport Tim Edwards told Supercars.com.

“A lot of the things that were tested there, it’s a continuation of that to further evaluate things including, the new tyre. It also gives us an opportunity to test the new MoTeC package.

“And then there’s just some other things that we tested at Tailem Bend that we want to further explore at Bathurst, which is a great proving ground.

“It’s a great opportunity to get on that track, which is unique to our calendar. You don’t get those opportunities very often.”

Drivers will enjoy six practice sessions across Friday and Saturday morning before qualifying takes centre stage on Saturday afternoon.

Qualifying is split into three parts with the upper and lower 50 percent of cars from practice having separate 30 minute sessions.

Then the fastest 10 will do battle in a 15 minute shootout for the Allan Simonsen Trophy.

The race will fire up at 5.45 in the morning.
