Supercars and F1 stars coming to Taupo

The Sixt Rent A Car Taupo Historic GP will be brought to life with the arrival of Supercars and F1 stars behind the wheel.
The main event will be a 28-car field featuring an even split of Australian and New Zealand drivers at the January 10-12 event.
Formula 1 drivers coming to Taupo are led by recent Toro Rosso comeback Kiwi Brendon Hartley, who has since been a three-time Le Mans winner.
A nineties Aussie David Brabham is also coming to Taupo, as is Brazilian F1 veteran Roberto Moreno.

In a big treat for Supercars fans, Russell Ingall will be reunited with his famous 2005 Stone Brothers Racing Ford BA Falcon he won his breakthrough title with.
The Caltex Falcon has been recently restored and is back in the special green and grey livery, while team owners Ross and Jim Stone will also be in attendance.
Other big name Supercars drivers that will be coming to Taupo include Greg Murphy, Steven Richards, Paul Radisich and Craig Baird.
There will be a big 33-car field for the of Heritage Touring Cars NZ that will see of familiar Group A cars and Super Tourers go racing.
Cars confirmed include a ex-Tony Longhurst B&H Ford Sierra RS500 steered by Andy Greenslade, a former Glenn Seton Peter Jackson Sierra thanks to Tony Karanfilovski and Carey McMahon driving an ex-Lawrie Nelson Mustang.
Former DJR Supercars driver Radisich will be driving a a Ford Mondeo Super Tourer, while Murphy’s first Great Race car will be there.
Another big highlight of Taupo will be a field of 14 screaming V8 Formula 5000s.
Completing the field are 15 Classic Saloons, 23 HVRA Historic Saloons and the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship.
A Ford marque has been promised where over 100 of New Zealand’s finest Fords are on display, while the famous Tyrrell P34 six-wheel Formula 1 Grand Prix car will also be there for fans to enjoy.
Fans can also savour a free pit walk on Saturday afternoon, Legends Yarn and singing session.
