TA2 title to be decided at One Raceway

By Thomas Miles

The winner of the 2024 TA2 Muscle Car Series will be decided at the revived and revamped One Raceway in NSW this weekend.

Joining the TA2s will be Formula RX8, Legend Cars Australia, Stock Cars Australia, Australian Drivers’ Championship and Formula Vees.

In the fight for the TA2 Muscle Car Series, Josh Haynes is in the box seat, being 82 points clear of Graham Cheney.

The champion will be decided across four races this weekend.

Haynes believes there will be nothing more special than winning the title at his home circuit.

“I am really excited to be returning back to One Raceway, it is my home track and I haven’t been there for three years,” he said.

“To finish the championship on the front foot in front of my sponsors, family and friends would be really cool.

“We still don’t know what way we will be running direction wise around the track and there is a few new corners that will make it very interesting for everyone.

“It is going to be a really exciting round, we just have to make sure we finish every race, and don’t do anything stupid because this is the most important time of the year.”

Brad Gartner is also in title contention being third and 107 points adrift and is going to go for it.

“I am approaching the weekend with nothing to loose,” he said.

“The mentality has been I can’t win it off anything unless something goes wrong for Josh Haynes, but I don’t wish that on him.

“He has had an amazing year and deserves to win it.

“My mindset is to go into this weekend and win as many races as we can, with nothing to lose.

“I can’t wait to head to One Raceway this weekend, hopefully have a great finish to the end of the year and build for a big one next season.”

The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series has history at One Raceway and Corporate Partnerships and Events Manager Carolyn Oldano is looking forward to building the history.

“Given our groups history with the venue, it is a great privilege to bring four-wheeled motorsport back to One Raceway,” she said.

“Being our final round, championships are on the line. Our headline act, TA2, has two young guns fighting it out, with Josh Haynes from Canberra, and Brad Gartner from South Australia.”

Practice has begun with racing to kick off tomorrow.
