Sandown scores final SRO nationals round

The complete 2025 SRO Motorsports Australia calendar is now confirmed with Sandown securing the last berth.
Last month when SRO Motorsports Australia confirmed it was taking over what is currently known as the SpeedSeries, one of the six rounds on the calendar was left as TBA.
Phillip Island, Sydney Motorsport Park, Queensland Raceway, The Bend Motorsport Park and Hampton Downs were the confirmed venues.
Now the historic Sandown Raceway will join them, hosting round 4 on July 25-27.
Interestingly the TBA round was originally Round 3 in June.
But that spot is now occupied by Queensland Raceway, which has been brought forward from August 1-3 to May 30-June 1.
This could be to avoid a clash with Supercars, which announced it will make a return to the “Paperclip” after six years on August 8-10.
All other rounds remain the same as the penultimate round of the SpeedSeries begins this weekend at SMP before the Bathurst International finale.
The addition of Sandown means the 2025 SRO Motorsports Australia Calendar will not feature the iconic Mount Panorama.
Headlining the SRO Motorsports Australia takeover will be the GT World Challenge and GT4 Australia championships.
“We are in the full swing of planning for 2025 and confirming Sandown as the remaining round is integral to this – so it’s pleasing to officially have our calendar locked in,” said SRO Motorsports Australia CEO Ben McMellan.
“It was an obvious choice to have Sandown as the last piece of the puzzle as it’s a very special circuit and boasts a rich history in Australian motorsport.
“As for the Queensland round, we believe moving it to earlier in the year will have a range of benefits to teams and drivers in what is a beautiful time of year.
“Next year is obviously going to be a very busy year on all fronts, so we look forward to getting the season underway and running premier events at Australia’s best circuits.”
