Familiar partner returns to MSR

By Thomas Miles

The new look Cameron Hill and Cameron Crick will take to the Supercars enduros has already been revealed showcasing a familiar backer for Matt Stone Racing (MSR).

SP Tools returns to Supercars as a naming rights partner for the first time since 2019 when it also backed Matt Stone Racing at Bathurst.

Unlike in 2019 when a retro livery was used, a fresh look has been unveiled on the #4 Camaro.

The usual MSR livery design has changed colours to welcome SP Tools, which is Hill’s latest partner having previously run Tyrepower, Supaglass and Dabble in 2024.

In addition to the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000 enduros, Hill will also steer it at the season finale in Adelaide.

It is fitting SP Tools returns to MSR with Hill, with the iconic #4 back with the Stone familiar after it was the showpiece number of Stone Brothers Racing.

However, SP Tools only supported the #4 SBR Falcon once when combined liveries were run in the 2009 Supercars enduros.

SP Tools was Shane van Gisbergen’s first major partner, backing his #9 Falcon from 2008-2012.

MSR team owner Matt Stone is delighted to see SP Tools return to his team.

“It’s good to have an event for all of our local partners to come into the workshop to celebrate the return of SP Tools to naming rights,” he said.

“I think the Car #4 livery looks great and I can’t wait to see it on the Supercar closer to Sandown.

“SP Tools are one of our founding partners and for them to jump onboard in a year which marks 20 years since SBR’s dominant era and to be on the iconic Car #4 is really fitting.

“We’re looking forward to maximising results over the enduro season.”
