Davison snares back to back Bathurst 6 Hour poles
Will Davison has put the #23 BMW on pole for the 2024 Bathurst 6 Hour by a big margin.
It was an all BMW show with the German manufacturer covering the entire Top 6 and X Class leaders, but it was Davison who was a cut above the rest.
Driving the #23 BMW M3 also shared by Tim Leahey and Beric Lynton, the DJR Supercars star recorded the fastest time in the 40 minute qualifying.
Davison’s 2:22.2531 was more than half a second then nearest rival Tyler Everingham.
The lap smashed the lap record of 2:22.904 set in 2019 by Leahey, whilst Davison also started on pole last year.
Everingham was second best on the #24 BMW also driven by Michael Auld and Brianna Wilson.
Thomas Randle has also been fast throughout the weekend and will start third after edging out reigning winner Jayden Ojeda.
Cameron Crick completes the top five ahead of Jordan Cox.
The leading non BMW was the Ford Mustang of Aaron Seton in seventh, just over 2s adrift as the leading A2 competitor, narrowly ahead of Josh Muggleton.
The top A1 car was Kiwi Paul Blomqvist in 17th, first in B1 was Courtney Prince in 26th, while classes C and D were led by Patrick Navin (30th) and Jaylyn Robotham (40th) respectively.
The 2024 Bathurst 6 Hour begins at 11:45am AEDT and will be live on the screens of SBS, Fox Sports, and Kayo.
