Slade and PremiAir to take on Sydney 6 Hour Regularity Relay

Supercars star Tim Slade and Top Fuel drag racer Peter Xiberras will take on the New South Wales day-night 6 Hour Regularity Relay event in a family-run entry later this month.

Slade will swap his PremiAir Nulon Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Supercar for a Hyundai Excel for the Regularity Relay to be held on Saturday, April 27 at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek.

The two-time Supercars race winner will share the Excel with his team owner and two-time Top Fuel Drag Racing champion Xiberras, who is bringing both of his sons along for the ride.

Slade will act as a mentor for Xiberras’ boys who are just starting their motorsport journey at the popular SMP Relay.

The New South Wales day-night 6 Hour Regularity Relay is a grass roots motorsport event but still attracts some very experienced drivers, including Richard Mork, who is a regularly each year dating back to the early 2000s, while competing in many other categories including Ute racing and V8s.

All up there are 36 teams and around 180 drivers including nine women that will take part in the race.

The event is team effort based on a point score so it’s not necessarily the fastest car or team that stands on the top step of the podium.

Spectator entry is free with with cars first hitting the track at 08.45 AEST for practice while the 6 Hour race is held from 16.00-22.00 AEST that evening.

Although the grid is full, the NSW Road Racing Club still have some Flag Marshall positions available.
