Sports Sedans roar again in Tassie

The fan favourite 2024 Precision National Sports Sedan Series season has fired up in the Apple Isle today and the fight for victory could be more competitive than ever after Steve Tamasi topped opening practice.

With the drivers who won four of the five rounds last year, including the top two in the championship Tony Ricciardello and Jordan Caruso not coming to Tasmania, who steps up in the opener is anyone’s guess.

With 18 fire-breathing Sports Sedans roaring around Symmons Plains, the fight for the top step will be enthralling viewing.

The first practice is already in the books with Steve Tamasi drawing first blood in his Holden Calibra.

Tamasi set the fastest time of a 52.2892s lap late in the 20-minute session.

He emerged two tenths faster then Geoff Taunton who showed strong speed out of the gates in the Marc GTSS.

The Holden Monaro of Ashley Jarvis ended up third, eight tenths off the pace.

The second MARC car of Steve Lacey and Skyline of Kim Barwick rounded out the top five.

The session was a special occasion being the first time the Precision National Sports Sedans have roared around Symmons Plains for more than two decades.
