Familiar colours for Mostert Mustang
Chaz Mostert will carry a revised livery on his #25 Walkinshaw Andretti United Ford Mustang in the 2024 Supercars Championship.
With continual support from Optus, Mostert will race with a similar, but revised look to last year.
For WAU’s first Ford livery on the #25 was an all white affair and the second edition has carried on the simple look.
There is now a splash of blue on the side, while the racing stripes that ran across the top of the car are gone.
Mostert’s livery is the second released following rookie WAU teammate Ryan Wood.
The 2024 season will be Mostert’s fifth in WAU colours having made the high-profile move from Tickford back in 2020.
Despite 2023 being his first winless season since 2020, it was still an impressive one as he scored six podiums on his way to being fourth in the championship as the highest placed Mustang.
Consistency was key to Mostert’s campaign as he finished in the top 10 in 21 of the 28 races.
After fighting hard throughout the first season of Gen3, Mostert will be hopeful of returning to the victory lane for the first time since the 2022 Adelaide 500, which ended his equal most winningest year.
Mostert is delighted to see some more colour on his car and is determined to make the most of a “great off-season”.
“The Mobil 1 Optus Racing No. 25 Mustang looks awesome, we’ve thrown a bit more colour on it this year, but it’s nice and clean which I love,” he said.
“We’ve had a great off-season, the guys and girls have worked around the clock to get us ready for what’s ahead, so I can’t wait to get stuck into the year, starting with the first test day and of course heading back to The Mountain.”
This year WAU has continued its theme of running uniform liveries between its two cars, a trait that stretches back to the HRT days aside from the odd change up in 2017.
WAU CEO Bruce Stewart said this is a deliberate move.
“It’s a great day for our Team as we reveal both our Ford Performance Mustang’s for 2024, the Mobil 1 Optus Racing No. 25 looks incredible,” he said.
“Ensuring the synergy between both cars was a priority for us, we are one team, one family and these liveries embody that.
“The hard work doesn’t stop here, the season really kicks into gear for us now, we are eagerly anticipating Round 1.
“This should be a very exciting year for the team, we have a big few weeks ahead of us so it’s eyes forward.”
Mostert will join Wood at the Winton test day on Wednesday, February 7.
