Brodie Kostecki has confirmed Richard Childress Racing as his drive at the Brickyard in Indianapolis for his NASCAR Cup Series debut on August 13.

As first revealed by AUTO ACTION, the 2023 Supercars championship contender will take on the Indianapolis Road Course, and he’ll do it onboard the MobileX #33 Camaro, a company founded by long time sponsor Peter Adderton.

Kostecki will take to the track with Kyle Busch and Austin Dillon as RCR teammates, and will also be racing on the same weekend that IndyCar and NASCAR will be having their Indianapolis crossover round.

“I am thrilled to be making my NASCAR Cup debut at the Brickyard,” Kostecki said.

“It’s an honour to compete at such an iconic venue and against some of the biggest names in motorsport.

“I’m incredibly grateful to RCR for giving me this opportunity and I’m determined to make the most of it.”

After spending his formative years of racing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, the Erebus driver is already familiar with the American scene.

“Racing is at the core of everything I do, and NASCAR has been a lifelong goal of mine after spending years growing up in the sports heartland in North Carolina.

“It’s a whole different world over there and any additional time I can spend racing is only going to help me try and win my first Supercars Championship.

“We got some great exposure to the inner sanctum of the team during our recent trip, and I cannot wait to immerse myself in the team, this time as a Cup Series driver.

“I can’t thank MobileX, Erebus, VAILO, Shaw & Partners, Southern Cross Truck Rentals and all my supporting partners enough for coming on board.”

The #33’s major backer will be MobileX, via Kostecki’s long-term relationship with CEO Peter Adderton.

“As founder of Boost Mobile and now founder and CEO of MobileX Global we couldn’t be more excited about sponsoring out first NASCAR with international star driver Brodie Kostecki with the Richard Childress MobileX race team,” Adderton said.

Likewise, Erebus boss Barry Ryan is thrilled to see Brodie take on the American field.

“We have always encouraged Brodie’s pursuit of more racing opportunities,” Ryan said.

“Providing him with the chance to explore and excel in various racing disciplines not only enhances his skills but also contributes to the overall growth and success of our team.”

Kostecki will head to the Indianapolis Road Course following the Supercars Sydney SuperNight round where he’ll be taking on his teammate Will Brown to wrestle back the championship lead.

Ford has finally won a race in the 2023 #Supercars Championship, but was it more the perfect storm for Anton De Pasquale or was it the parity changes. And what about #SVG, did he leave his heart in Dixie?

Then there is Auto Action’s very own Oscar Piastri and his stunning performance in Silverstone in a car one step behind his teammate in evolution. Yes Max won, but really, who cares anymore? Even he must be bored by now.
