The kids are alright – Rise of the Aussie young guns

By Auto Action

The first AUTO ACTION magazine of 2023 is on sale now at newsagents and online and it is loaded with content on Australia’s department of youth.

More than a dozen pages are dedicated to the rising stars of Australian motorsport, who will be racing all over the world in 2023.

A major part of the magazine is a four-page feature highlighting all of the young Aussies ‘taking on the world’ as they look to establish themselves in the cut-throat environment of international open-wheel racing.

Christian Mansell will race for Campos in Formula 3 next year.

The deep dive begins at FIA Formula 3 level where Christian Mansell, Tommy Smith and Hugh Barter are preparing themselves to take on the key stepping stone to Formula 1 for the first time.

The story then ventures to England where the likes of Costa Toparis, James Piszcyk, Cooper Webster and Patrick Heuzenroeder will be competing.

James Wharton is chasing success in the Italian F4 Championship in 2023.

Elsewhere in Europe will be James Wharton, who looks for more success in the Italian F4 Championship. But before then he, Noah Lisle and Piszcyk will chase glory in the UAE F4 Series.

The story also expands beyond Europe and into America, where Jesse Lacey and Lochie Hughes are both on the pathway in the USF4 and USF2000 Championships respectively.

After a successful 2022 season, Hunter McElrea hopes to further enhance his reputation in the Indy NXT Series, while across the ditch Ryder Quinn and Tom McLennan will both be in action in the Toyota Racing Series.

Cameron McLeod spoke about the big 2023 that lies ahead of him in the latest Young Guns feature.

There is a big focus on third generation racer Cameron McLeod with three pages on the upcoming Super3 driver.

Before McLeod jets off to race at the Dubai 24 hour, readers can discover his journey to a “career shaping” year in a two-page Young Guns feature.

An extra one-page news article also reveals McLeod’s backing from some of the biggest names in global motorsport.

As the world awaits Oscar Piastri’s F1 debut for McLaren this year, discover the man who put him on the path to glory in Europe.

Readers can find out what is in store for rising Aussie rally driver Taylor Gill, while there is also a page regarding the latest Super2 driver announcements where some bright prospects have revealed their ambitions to chase the Supercars dream.

Ryan Wood is jumping from the Porsche pathway to form one half of the Walkinshaw Andretti United setup alongside Zach Bates, while another former Carrera Cup driver Cooper Murray will drive for Eggleston Motorsport after a year off and will drive next to open-wheeler Jordyn Sinni.

The masses of info on the next generation is just some of the content inside a loaded latest edition of AUTO ACTION magazine that kicks off 2023 with a bang, covering all aspects of motorsport.
