Grand Prix grandstand capacity bolstered

By Thomas Miles

There will be more seats available for fans to watch the action at Albert Park at next year’s Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

After a huge crowd of 419,114 swamped to sell out all grandstand seats in record time earlier this year, the capacity has been increased for the 2023 race.

A total of 44,000 seats will be available to the public, an increase of 5,000 from 2022.

The first of the 44,000 grandstand tickets will be on sale tomorrow as they are released a phased approach.

After the opening phase commences tomorrow (Tuesday November 29) the second phase kicks off a week later on Tuesday, December 6.

In total of 16 grandstands will be seen across the Albert Park street circuit with tickets starting from $105 for Friday practice.

Saturday only tickets are priced from $225 while a race day pass starts from $325.

Two day tickets begin at $365 and a four-day pass start from $415, while seats are not available for Thursday’s action.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation senior manager product and customer experience Samantha O’Hearn encouraged people to get in quick to win the race to tickets.

“In 2022 we saw grandstand seats sell out in record time and with the 2023 event on track to follow suit, make sure you jump online nice and early to avoid missing out,” she said.
