Aussie colours for Herne’s US debut

Nathan Herne will be proudly representing Australia as he makes his American Trans-Am debut at the Circuit of The Americas this weekend.
Herne will standout in the 54-strong field with his #29 Stevens-Miller Ford Mustang sporting a green livery completed by both the Australian flag and map on the side.
The 20-year-old will also carry the TA2 Australia logo on the bonnet and the colours of TA2 constructor Howe Racing Enterprises.

Herne enters the American debut at Texas on a high after dominating the opening round of the S5000 Tasman Series on the streets of Surfers Paradise, while he has also enjoyed plenty of Trams-Am success being a two-time national champion.
But racing against the big boys in the USA will be a whole new challenge and Herne will turn to the experience of two-time Trans-Am Champion and 2022 IMSA LMP3 Champion Gar Robinson.
He is a familiar face to Australian TA2 fans having raced twice at Bathurst and with two podiums at COTA including a last-corner move to steal victory in 2019, the Rolex Daytona 24 winner has plenty of knowledge to pass on to Herne.

Robinson said he is excited by the prospect of helping out an Australian “mate” on the big stage at COTA.
“I’m pumped to reunite with my Australian TA2 mates to help out their young-gun Nathan [Herne] at COTA this weekend,” he said.
“I first met Nathan when I raced at Bathurst in 2019 before he started in TA2, and it’s been great to see him progress to be a two-time Australian champion and hopefully he can take it to the yanks over here.
“Track position will be critical with over 50 cars on track, so my role will be just to get him familiar with how to get the most of these cars around COTA so he can maximise his time on track to put him in the best position to race well on Sunday.”
The TA2 race will take place from 3.45-5.00am Monday morning.
