The Australian Racing Group has announced the six-round National Trans Am Series calendar for the 2022 season.

The popular Trans Am Series will visit four states over six rounds and conclude with a non-championship round at Bathurst to end the season.

In fact, like the TCR Australia Series there will be two visits to the Mount Panorama Circuit, as the muscle car series will also visit the track supporting the Bathurst 6 Hour in April.

The Trans Am Series will comprise six rounds, starting with a visit to Symmons Plains Raceway as part of the second running of Race Tasmania.

Round 2 takes the V8-powered machines to Victoria’s legendary Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, followed by the Easter weekend trip to Bathurst for the 6 Hour.

Round 4 is a TBA venue in New South Wales which will be confirmed in the near future.

Queensland Raceway will act as the fifth event, while Sandown acts as the final points paying round of the series.

Both QR and Sandown and brand-new circuits for the Trans Am category.

While the series champion will be crowned in September, the American-based muscle cars will also take part in the Bathurst International for the ‘Trans Am 100’ from November 11-13.

“The Turtle Wax Trans Am Series has fast become a shining light on the Australian motorsport scene,” said Australian Racing Group CEO Matt Braid.

“With over 70 cars in the country now and even more on the way, this class is no longer a sleeping giant.

“This six-round calendar for 2022 gives the competitors a balanced and rounded series, with events in all three eastern seaboard states, plus Tasmania, and two races at Mount Panorama – one for series points and one at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst International.

“There is a lot to be excited about in the world of Trans Am, and the 2022 calendar is just the start of an exciting future on the national racing scene.”

Category naming rights sponsor Turtle Wax have backed the Best Presented Team Award – a prize of $500 cash and a car care product pack thanks to Turtle Wax and Selleys will be awarded at every round.
