Porsche Cars Australia (PCA) has announced its 2021 Carrera Cup Australia calendar which once again sees the series feature as the premier support category of the Supercars Championship.

The eight round Carrera Cup calendar in 2021 consists of a large variety of destinations across the width of Australia and even includes a trip across the ditch to New Zealand.
The season is due to begin at the Australian Grand Prix in March before supporting seven Supercars Championship rounds from May to December.
“After the restrictions to our 2020 program, it’s great to announce our 2021 calendar which will see our drivers continue to race at the biggest motorsport events of the year, in front of the biggest crowds, enjoying the best support and television package available,” said PCA’s head of motorsport Troy Bundy.
“We strive to deliver a premium class experience for all our customers, teams and sponsors and with the support of Porsche New Zealand this year, the New Zealand race promises to be a real highlight.
“We‘re equally glad that Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia will again be the premier support category on the Repco Supercars Championship for next year. “
Round two in early May will see the Porsche teams visit South Australian venue, The Bend Motorsport Park before heading north-east to run around the streets of Townsville.
The next two events are scheduled to take place under lights, the first at Sydney Motorsport Park in August, closely followed by Perth in September.
It will mark the first time in eight years that the Carrera Cup Australia Series will have visited the Waneroo Raceway in Western Australia.
From the far west of Australia, the following round takes place on the eastern side of Australia as the popular one-make series returns to the Bathurst 1000 event after a one-year absence due to COVID-19.
The penultimate round will take place on the North Island in New Zealand, however it is unknown at this stage what race circuit this will be held at.
Traditionally the final round of the Carrera Cup Series takes place at the Gold Coast on the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit and will do so once again.
However, due to the Gold Coast event concluding the Supercars Championship in 2021, the event will take place on the first weekend of December.
“I would like to thank our valued partners, as without them we wouldn’t be able to reinvest that support back to the drivers and customers through improved calendars, television packages, prizes as well as our Michelin Junior Development Programme,” Bundy said.
