The youngest pairing in the Bathurst 1000 field have ripped the covers off their Boost Mobile Kostecki Brothers Racing Supercar at Mount Panorama today.

Cousins Jake (19) and Brodie (21) Kostecki will be contesting their first-ever Bathurst 1000 in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship and the pair are pumped to hit the track behind the wheel of their striking new Commodore.

At 19-years-old Jake Kostecki lines up as the second-youngest driver in the field but says that will bear no burden on his approach to perform well across the mountain this weekend.

“Being one of the youngest guys in the field doesn’t bother me,” said Jake.

“We’ve been preparing hard all year for this opportunity, training hard, working on the car ourselves, testing, so I feel more prepared and in tune with this car than I have for any other race in my career.

“Brodie, I and my brother Kurt have been putting in huge hours to bring this little team to the mountain and now it’s time to strap the helmet on and give it a red hot go on Sunday.”

Both Brodie, Jake and Jake’s brother Kurt have been personally preparing their Boost Mobile ZB Commodore all year and have built the car and the team together in their QLD workshop in preparation for this year’s Supercars endurance season.

Brodie’s dedication to the Boost Mobile Kostecki Brother Racing Bathurst 1000 program also meant that he would forego his assault on the 2019 Super 2 series, for his car to be transformed and rebuilt into a brand new Gen 2 ZB Commodore Supercar.

“We’ve all made sacrifices to get on the grid at Bathurst this year and for me that meant stepping out of the race seat in the Super 2 series and focus our efforts on building the Boost Mobile Supercar, and being 100% prepared for the biggest race of our lives,” said Brodie.

“I’ve learnt so much along the journey so far and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel and live out a life long dream of competing in the greatest motorsport race on the planet.

“We’re under no illusions that this will be the toughest test of our careers and finishing the 1000km race is our goal, and we’re so grateful to have the support of our family, friends, sponsors and of course Boost Mobile for helping us realise our dream. Now it’s time to dance!”

Rob Crawford who joins the Kosteckis this weekend to oversee their Bathurst 1000 campaign. The experienced Crawford will bring plenty of positive experience to the table as the Kosteckis make their debut in this year’s Bathurst 1000 as one of two Wildcard entries.

The entry is an exciting one for title sponsor of the car Boost Mobile and it’s Australian General Manager, Jason Haynes.

“Everyone at Boost Mobile are excited to see Brodie, Jake and the Boost Mobile Kostecki Racing team make their dreams come true this weekend,” said Haynes.

“No one should underestimate how big of a challenge they have undertaken in building, setting up and racing in this year’s Bathurst 1000. Boost Mobile are proud to support the Kosteckis in this journey It’s a story of sacrifice, determination, dedication and the belief within themselves to compete in one of the greatest motorsport events in the world.

“Boost Mobile has an unprecedented line up for this year’s Bathurst 1000 with three naming rights Supercars and in total seven drivers. Richie Stanaway/Chris Pither, James Golding/Richard Muscat with Boost Mobile Racing (GRM) and Brodie Kostecki/Jake Kostecki with Boost Mobile Kostecki Racing and Macauly Jones.”
