Nick Percat will run in Honda colours this weekend, with the iconic motorcycle brand backing his No. 8 BJR Holden Commodore for the Winton SuperSprint.

While their focus is now on four-wheel motorsport, Brad Jones and his brother Kim are no strangers to motorcycle racing, with the brothers first cutting their teeth in motorsport through off-road and on-road motorcycle racing.

“When I think about it, Kim and I first raced motocross and road racing respectively before racing cars. Our Dad Phil loved car racing. There is a unique cross over between the two genres, which most riders and drivers will agree.” said Brad Jones.

“Supercars exposure to regional Australia is unparallel to any other mainstream sport. Our fans enjoy dirt biking, quad biking, boating and camping; they’re freedom and adventure seekers.”

The new partnership has also allowed the team to launch its new alliance with McLeod Accessories and Penrite Oil.

“When McLeod Accessories spoke to me about launching their alignment with Penrite Oil it made perfect sense to highlight these fantastic partners at the Winton event.” Jones continued.

Winton is one of Australia’s iconic motorsport precincts, hosting a myriad of highly regarded motorsport events, including the Australian Superbike Championship, plus they have a motocross track on site as well.

Executive General Manager of McLeod Accessories Lincoln McFayden was thrilled to align with BJR and Nick Percat, and is proud of their new alignment with Penrite Oils.

“Nick and the team have proven all year to be competitive in the highly-stacked Supercar field. To align with BJR is a proud moment for McLeod Accessories and its group of brands” Lincoln said.

“Penrite has fast become the most prominent brand in motorcycling. Their alignment with the championship winning Honda Team has spanned more than 5 years. We align with their values and principles and look forward to building a reputable and tangible relationship”

The No. 8 ZB Commodore also features Penrite Honda Racing branding on the bonnet and rear wings, to showcase the Penrite Honda Racing MX / SX team, who took out the AUS-SX Championship in 2018 for the third year running.

“It’s fantastic to arrive at Winton as the Honda Motorcycles Dealer Team this weekend. The Honda brand resonates well with Supercar fans, as they enjoy all things that go fast, whether it be four wheels, or on two wheels!” said Nick Percat.

“At this time of year, many of the guys from the BJR team are loading up their Honda motorcycles and going out riding on their weekends off; it’s a part of their lifestyle. They enjoy the freedom that two wheels provides and generally arrive back to the workshop talking about all the fun they’ve had out camping and riding on their Honda Motorcycles.”

“For the team at Honda they are all about performance, it’s not just about speed. With a test day under our belt last week, we go into the Winton event as prepared as we can be, and we plan to continue our string of strong performances. It’s been a great team effort all year, and the consistency in our results show.”
