Team18 Pirtek Endurance driver Matthew Brabham involved in a severe testing accident at Winton Raceway yesterday.

Brabham, who was driving the No. 18 Holden Commodore at the time, was uninjured in the crash however the car was extensively damaged from the incident at Turn 4 on rural Victorian track.

The team transported the car back to their Melbourne workshop last night to assess the damage. It is expected that the car will be repaired in time for the next round of the Supercars Championship at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin on June 15-17.

Auto Action understands that the team were testing new suspension components, whilst also giving Brabham extra seat time before his first endurance campaign alongside Lee Holdsworth, which commences with the Sandown 500 in mid-September.

Brabham also took part in the co-driver session during the most recent Supercars round over the weekend, also at Winton, where he finished in 11th on the timesheets.
