Alex Rullo has confirmed that he will race in the Dunlop Super2 Series this season with MW Motorsport.

As reported in this week’s Auto Action, Rullo will race a Nissan Altima for the team, alongside Dean Fiore and Garry Jacobson.

“After completing an evaluation day with the team late last year, the car felt really good in comparison to the LDM Commodore,” said Rullo in a media release.

“The Nissan is quite different so it will take a bit to get comfortable, but I’m really keen to be working with Matt and his team again. I’ve learnt a lot since working with him in 2015, so hopefully we can continue our race-winning partnership.”

Last year Rullo competed in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship with the now re-branded Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport Team.

“Although last year was tough competing in an outdated car, I feel like it was a real character-building season. I learnt a lot of the VASC drivers and I know what it’s like to compete at their level.”

Now returning to the Super 2 paddock, Rullo’s goal is to bid for the 2018 title and work his way back into the top-tier.

“There’s definitely going to be a high-level of competition in Super 2 this year from what I’ve heard. It’ll be tough but hopefully we surprise a few people.”

Rullo did not confirm his endurance racing program, which AA understands will see him line up with Nissan Motorsport’s Simona De Silvestro.

Rullo and MWM will complete a test day early next week in preparation for the season opener at the Adelaide 500.
