Nissan Motorsport Pirtek Enduro Cup regular, Dean Fiore, has announced that he will compete in the Dunlop Super2 series to assist his preparations for this year’s endurance campaign.

Fiore will join Matt White Motorsport to race one of the teams Nissan Altima’s in his first full season in the second tier Supercars category.

The former Supercars regular has been Michael Caruso’s co-driver at Nissan Motorsport since 2014, although his plans for the 2018 Pirtek Enduro Cup are yet to be confirmed.

“The ideal case for everyone is to do what (Triple Eight co-driver and Super2 regular) Paul Dumbrell has done for the last five years,” Fiore told Supercars official website.

“It’s absolutely the best way to go about it and for me to be in a Nissan, I can set everything up so that there’s very little change between cars.

“It’s an ideal scenario and for me personally, it’ll be nice to have my own championship to focus on. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Matt White Motorsport are yet to confirm the plans for their other two Nissan Altima’s. Jack Le Brocq, who won races for the Melbourne based squad in 2017 steps up to join Tekno Autosports in the main series, while Bryce Fullwood has confirmed he’ll join Dunlop Super2 series winning team Matt Stone Racing in 2018.

Alex Rullo and former Super2 Champion Garry Jacobson have both been mentioned as possible drivers for Matt White Motorsport in 2018.
