Thomas Randle is poised to enter the Dunlop Super2 Series this year – with Tickford Racing.

The Melbourne driver will race one of the team’s Ford Falcons in his debut Supercars season, starting in Adelaide in March.

The move means that Randle, 21, will set aside his ambitions of racing internationally to concentrate on Supercars.

A year ago he became the first Australian to take out the Toyota Racing Series, when he finished third in the New Zealand Grand Prix to seal the title.

In spite of his youth he has already raced a variety of cars, winning the Formula Ford title in 2014 and finished second in the maiden year of Australian Formula 4 the following season.

In 2016 he raced in the BRDC Formula 3 championship in Britain, and last year split his efforts, racing in three rounds of the British LMP3 Cup and in the final six rounds in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0.

But he also has experience in bigger, V8-powered cars, the most powerful of which is the Saab Sports Sedan owned by his father Dean.

He has also raced Rusty French’s Touring Car Masters Ford Mustang, as well as in Formula V8 3.5, for two rounds with Comtec Racing in 2016.
