23Red Racing will be Supercars newest team in 2018.
The team, owned by Lucas Dumbrell and businessman Phil Munday, was announced in Newcastle on Thursday. The team has confirmed that it will run a single-car entry in the Supercars Championship next season, as well as in two other series.
The team has confirmed it will enter “a V8 Supercar [sic] and Porsche into the various championships”. AA understands that means that it will field a car in the Dunlop Super2 Series, as well as the Carrera Cup Australia series.
The team has enlisted Cameron McConville as team director. The long-time driver raced for LD Motorsport at Darwin in June.

No drivers have been named for either Supercars series, but John Steffensen has been confirmed as 23Red’s CCup entry.
The former Olympic silver medallist raced in the 2017 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge series with Zagame Motorsport, and backed by Repair Management Australia – owned by Munday.
“It’s an exciting time, I’m looking forward to getting into the 2018 season,” said Munday.
“It will be a big change from being a major sponsor to team owner next year and I’m looking forward to bringing a fresh, modern team to the grid.”
Said Dumbrell, “I just can’t wait for the new season to be honest, working with Phil in the past I know this will be a strong, productive team.”

'description' => 'The Supercars Championship, currently known as the Repco Supercars Championship, is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia\'s biggest sports. It originated from the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which held its first race in 1960 at Gnoo-Blas in Orange, New South Wales. The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
